Reading Life

Reading is a thriving economic centre in the Thames Valley, combining the best features of a traditional market town with modern shopping malls, business and high tech industries. These extend along the line of the nearby M4 motorway, which links London and Bristol, and which provides good transport options to all parts of the UK.

Reading is also well served by excellent railway routes. For example, London is only thirty minutes’ travelling time away by train.

The town’s many attractions includes its picturesque Thameside location, its abundance of modern bars, restaurants and cinemas, and a wide range of sporting facilities, such as the Madjeski stadium, which is home to both the Reading Football Club and the London Irish Rugby Club, and which is complemented by a range of leisure facilities and inviting hotels.

There are many other sporting attractions nearby, such as the world famous Ascot Racecourse, and water-based activities on the Thames River. Reading also offers many cultural attractions, including an enjoyable annual music festival. There are numerous significant historic sites nearby, such as Windsor Castle, and the beautiful University town of Oxford.
